Project Holst
Inspired by the centenary of Listers Hall and its connection to Gustav Holst, Project Holst brings professional musicians into local schools to help children create their own musical “planets.” These pieces will be showcased in a special community event.
Project Holst also acts as a gateway to ongoing music lessons for children in the area.
Our Projects
Previous Projects
Dursley Music has a track record of creating ambitious, high-quality music projects rooted in community engagement. In 2020, during the Covid lockdowns, we created and delivered the Edge Music Festival, a large-scale music festival curated and produced locally and broadcast on Edge Radio, bringing live music and a sense of shared cultural experience to audiences at a time of isolation.
In 2021, we delivered Pictures at an Exhibition, a creative project that used Mussorgsky’s music as a starting point for participation, imagination, and collaboration, connecting performers and audiences through a shared exploration of music and visual ideas.
These projects demonstrate our ability to deliver meaningful musical experiences even in challenging circumstances, with creativity, resilience, and community at their heart.
